- Perhaps the question should not be just a matter of C++ against
- Delphi. It may be worth considering Oberon/F. I had a cursory
- look at it two months ago and it seemed an efficient language
- (Delphi-like but far better thought out, and elegant), well
- implemented. Its interface is simpler than Delphi (and Visual
- Basic) and it is much less demanding on resources. I could not
- run Delphi on my old 386DX33 (of course!), but I could Oberon/F
- without much pain. There is a newsgroup comp.lang.oberon.
- I downloaded my copy of Oberon/F (the educational version is
- free) from Zuerich university. I wish I had the leisure to
- explore Oberon and become proficient in it, but alas...
